Synopsis “Meucci”

Florence 1831. Antonio Meucci ( Massimo Ghini) is a young inventor who make a living as a driver of the Teatro La Pergola. Because of his liberal ideas, was forced to leave her native city with his wife, goes to Cuba here, working in theater, alongside his research on electricity and the operation of sound, which continues in the second and last leg of his exile: Staten Island (New York). The genius of Meucci, always sustained by the love of his wife (Tosca D'Aquino) and by the aid of members of the Italian community is frustrated by personal misfortunes, economic hardship and lenders disonensti. Even his most revolutionary invention, the telephone, he was taken away by Alexander Bell, whose Meucci sues.
The second part of the miniseries is almost entirely dedicated to the process that opposes the aged inventor, on the brink of poverty, the powerful Bell Telephone Company. The story ends in 1887 when, a year before the death of Meucci, the court issues a ruling unfavorable Italian inventor. Which will, however, the moral winner of the process.
